What is Green Tea?
Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea does, the camellia sinensis. The difference comes about from the way the tea is processed. Black tea is allowed to undergo the full oxidation process while green teas are quickly subjected to heat soon after picking to stop the effects of oxidation. The result is a fresh tea that still contains most of the properties of the tea leaf that it came from. The widely known health benefits of green tea are a great bonus to the delicious flavor of these teas. Green tea is reported to contain powerful anit-oxidants that can aid the body in fighting many illnesses. Browse our large selection of green teas.
